A View from the Green Over the Tee Cup The August 2 playday for the Willow Creek Coun- try Club ladies hosted nine players on the sunny day. Virginia Grant was the win- ner of low gross of the field and Kris Lindner had low net of the field. Pat Dough- erty had the least putts. Karen Thompson and Eva Kilkenny tied for low gross for flight A. Kilkenny also had the longest putt and Thompson got KP. For flight B, Pat Edmundson had low gross and Lorene Montgomery had low net. Edmundson also had the long putt for the flight. Kim Carlson took low gross for flight C as well as the long putt. Karen Smith-Griffith had low net and KP. Virginia Grant got a chip-in on #3 and Pat Dougherty on #9. Morrow County Republicans schedule meeting The Morrow County Republicans will meet at 6 p.m., Monday, August 15 at the Bartholomew Building, Heppner, Oregon. PCPs and anyone interested in the county Republican Party are encouraged to come and join the discussions. Boardman to fill council vacancies The Boardman City Council is seeking letters of interest from individuals willing to be considered for appointment to fill two va- cancies on the city council. One person appointed will fill Katy Norton’s seat, who resigned on July 12, 2022, due to moving away from the area. The second per- son appointed will fill Paul Beagle’s seat, who resigned on July 15, 2022, citing personal issues. Both resig- nations were accepted at the August 2, 2022, city council meeting. Both terms expire December 31, 2024. Those interested must have resided in the City of Boardman during the twelve months immediately preceding the appointment and be a registered voter. The city has three councilor positions open for election this year, with terms ending Decem- ber 31, 2026. Interested parties must be at least 18 years of age and reside within the city limits. They must have also lived within the city limits 12 months immediately preceding election day and be a registered voter no less than 20 days immediately preceding the election.
