Ione/Arlington volleyball
competes at district
Trees downed by high winds
Trees were knocked down by high winds on the weekend. According to weather reports,
wind speeds reached 33 mph with gusts up to 67 mph on Sunday. Above: a tree was knocked

The Ione/Arlington
volleyball team took third
place in the district tour-
nament held in Echo on
Saturday, October 23. They
lost their first match against
Echo 3-0 and won the sec-
ond 3-1 against Klickwood,
earning their third place
spot. The team will play
their first playoff game
Wednesday, hoping to win
two games and go to the
state tournament.
The Ione/Arlington
football team traveled to
Cove and brought home the
win on Friday, October 22.
The team will begin the post
season with a playoff game
this week at North Powder.
Morrow SWCD to meet
Morrow SWCD will meet Tuesday, November 2 beginning at 6 p.m. virtu-

decorating contest will be
sponsored by Wheatland
Insurance.
-Morrow County’s
Broadband Action Team
will be holding the second
of three community town
halls on November 10 from
5:30 to 6:30 p.m.at the Gil-
liam and Bisbee building
in Heppner. Light refresh-
ments will be provided.

The Swanson Insurance Group Announces New Team Member
The Swanson Insurance Group, LLC is excited to announce Emily Cecil as the
newest member of their growing team.
Emily, a Heppner native, received a Bachelor of Science
degree in Business Administration with a focus in
Marketing Management and a Minor in Communication
Studies from Eastern Oregon University in 2020. Shortly
after graduating, Emily took on the role as Lead Business
Advisor for the Umatilla Electric Cooperative Business
Resource Center.
When asked about her new role with The Swanson
