Any voter who is dissatisfied with the ballot title may petition the Mor- row County Circuit Court to review the ballot title no later than 5:00 p.m., Au- gust 25, 2020. The Following shall be the ballot title: Caption Bonds For New Fire Sta- tion and Emergency Vehi- cles Question: Shall the Boardman Rural Fire Protection District is- sue bonds to provide new fire station and emergency vehicles? If the bonds are approved, they will be pay- able from taxes on proper- ty or property ownership that are not subject to the limits of sections 11 and 11b, Article XI of the Or- egon Constitution. Summary: This measure would autho- rize up to $8,475,000 mil- lion in principal amount of general obligation bonds. If approved, this mea- sure would finance capital costs, including: • a new fire station; • land for the fire station; • a new structural fire en- gine; and • emergency vehicles to replace older vehicles. The District’s current fire station was built as an all-volunteer facility 50 years ago. The new station would accommodate the District’s 24 hour a day re- sponse model, improving response times and allow- ing the District to meet na- tional standards for emer- gency medical care and fire service. The estimated annual tax rate would be $0.24 per $1,000 of assessed value. A property with an as- sessed value of $100,000 would pay approximately $24. Actual levy rate may differ due to actual inter- est rates and/or changes in assessed value. Bonds may be issued in separate series; each series would mature within 21 years or less. If you would like to obtain a copy of the filed SEL 805, contact: Morrow County Clerk at (541) 676-5601 or mail a request to Morrow County Clerk, P.O. Box 338, Hep- pner, OR 97836-0338.
