Wolff off to retirement

A large crowd at the Elks sent Columbia Basin Electric Coop Administrator Tommy Wolff off
into retirement with a roast and toast last Friday night. Wolff is stepping down after 22 years
at the Cooperative. Members of the audience had a prime rib dinner and then heard humorous

speak at church

The City of Boardman
is beginning talks to expand
water and sewer projects in
Boardman. The expansion
will ensure reliability in the
city’s water and wastewater
systems and improve fire
flow.
In other city business,
the Boardman Police De-
partment congratulated Lo-
ren Dieter on his promotion
from Lieutenant to Captain.
Captain Dieter grew up in
Boardman and raised his
family there.
On January 7, the
Boardman City Council
voted on three resolutions.
Resolution 1-2020 to
extend development in-
centives which expired on
December 31, 2019. In an
effort to encourage new
construction in Boardman,
the city council passed
a resolution that tempo-
rarily waives water and
sewer System Develop-
ment Charges (SDC’s) for
a period of twelve months.
The resolution waives the
SDC’s on a sliding scale
based upon the number of
Equivalent Dwelling Units
built. All property owners
or developers of residential
or commercial property
within the City limits are
eligible for the waivers.
The waivers will expire on
December 31, 2020.
Resolution 2-2020 to
accept a broadband stra-
tegic plan for the City of
Boardman. The strategic
objective of this plan is to
obtain broadband speed
and reliability necessary for
economic and community
vitality, enhanced public
safety, educational oppor-
tunities and quality of life
for all Boardman residents
and businesses.
Resolution 3-2020 to
adopt a new consolidated
fee schedule to govern fees
for city services. There was
an addition added to page
three under the section for
Planning Application/Re-
ture was 38.3 degrees which
was 3.1 degrees above nor-
mal. High temperatures av-
eraged 46.5 degrees, which
was 2.9 degrees above nor-
mal. The highest was 58
degrees on the 26 th . Low
temperatures averaged 30.2
degrees, which was 3.4
degrees above normal. The
lowest was 14 degrees, on
the 14 th .
There were 13 days
with the low temperature
below 32 degrees. There
was one day when the high
temperature stayed below
32 degrees.
Precipitation totaled
1.20 inches during Janu-
ary, which was 0.27 inches
