HHS Booster Club dinner and auction scheduled The Heppner High School Booster Club will hold their annual dinner and auction at the Heppner Elks on October 19. Doors open at 5 p.m. with dinner served at 6 and the live auction at 7 p.m. The evening will include a steak dinner for $20 per person, live and silent auctions, raffles, heads or tails game and card games. Everyone is welcome to attend. Chamber lunch meeting The next lunch meeting of the Heppner Chamber of Commerce will be held Thursday, October 17 from noon to 1 p.m. in the Hep- pner City Hall conference room. The meeting will feature Rita Van Schoiack’s (Blue Mountain Invest- ment Management) stu- dents through the Morrow County high school intern- ship program presenting personal finance informa- tion specific to their age group using digital media. Beth Dickenson’s students will also speak about their backpack program. Lunch will be provided by Bucknum’s for $10 per person and RSVPs are re- quired no later than October 15. Lunch will consist of chicken dumpling soup, grilled cheese sandwich and dessert. The meeting location is accessible to persons with disabilities. Library to hold Scavenger Hunt A Zombie Scavenger Hunt by the teens of the Heppner Library night is planned for Thursday, Oc- tober 17, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the Heppner area. The teens are asking people to donate personal items to be given to the Neighborhood Center to be distributed to those in need in the area. Anyone who can donate deodorant, razors, sham- poo, hair conditioner, soap or laundry soap is asked to contact the Heppner Li- brary to arrange for pickup, 541-676-9964.
