Unable to locate. HES schedules registration Registration for the 2019-20 school year will be held August 12 and 13 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Hep- pner Elementary School. Students may pay their $10 student body fee and receive their HES tee shirt during this time. Online registration will be avail- able with the assistance of HES staff as well. Heppner Elementary supply lists are available on the HES website. The Heppner Elemen- tary back to school barbe- cue will be held August 27. An orientation meeting will be held in the gym at 5:30 p.m. followed by two sessions. The Heppner El- ementary Parent Teachers Club will be providing hot dogs at 6:20 after the second session. Local athletes play in Shrine game Above Tyler Carter (68) of Heppner and below Josh Gray (59) of Ione (far right) played in the East-West Shrine game on Saturday. The 67 th annual East- West Shrine Game took place in Baker City at the Bulldog Memorial Stadi- um on Saturday, August 3 with Josh Gray of Ione and Tyler Carter of Heppner playing for the East. Both are linemen. The West took advan- tage of six East turnovers to break a four-game losing streak. The West had three ALL NEWS AND ADVERTISEMENT DEADLINE: MONDAYS AT 5:00 P.M. interceptions and recovered three fumbles to take the 43-10 win. The East still leads the overall series. According to Shriners International, the game is the largest fundraiser in Oregon for the Shriners Hospital and is considered the second-largest athletic money-maker for Shriners Hospitals in North America.
