Heppner Gazette-Times, Heppner, Oregon Wednesday, July 24, 2019 -- THREE A View from the Green Senior golfers play at Goldendale Senior golfers from Willow Creek Country Club played at the Colum- bia-Blue Senior Golf Asso- ciation tournament on July 8 at the par 72 Goldendale golf course in Goldendale, WA. Winners from Willow Creek in the Columbia Division (handicap 17 and below) gross category were Dennis Peck and Dave Pranger in an eighth-place tie with a score of 90. In net Duane Disque took fourth with 70 and John McCabe was fifth with a score of 71. Blue Division (handi- cap 18 to 22) winners were Dave Creswick in first place gross with a score of 85, Jim Swanson in second with 89 and Delbert Binchus in sev- enth with 91. Steve Marlatt took seventh in net with 73. In the Senior Division (handicap 23 and above) Roger Ehrmantraut was fifth in gross with 101 and Ralph Walker was sixth with his score of 102. In net Jeff Cutsforth and Al Scott tied for first with 71 and Gene Orwick came in fourth with 73. The next Colum- bia-Blue Senior Golf As- sociation tournament will be held at the Big River golf course in Umatilla on Au- gust 12. Players should call 541-922-3006 to reserve a riding cart. Glow Ball event a success The annual Glow Ball night golf scramble, held July 20 at the Willow Creek Golf Course on a warm, windless evening, was con- sidered a success by event hosts Scott Johnston, Tiffa- ny and Tony Clement and families. Participants spent a fun evening filled with golf, snacks and putting games with a clear view of the stars. Laughter could be heard echoing around the glowing golf course. The team of Casey Fletcher and Kennisyn Wilkins tied with Rick and Scott Johnston for first place. Regi Seitz and Shane Lazinka took second and Brandon and Krystal Seitz placed third. Cooking class to be held This month’s vegetar- ian cooking class will be held at the Heppner Sev- enth-Day Adventist gym on July 30 at 7 p.m. and is free for anyone who would like to attend. The summer treat of corn on the cob will be the focus of recipes that may not have been tried before. Recipes will be shared with attendees.
