Navy to conduct tumbleweed mitigation along Bombing Range Rd In accordance with fire management direc- tives and protocols, U.S. Navy and Oregon Mili- tary Department personnel will conduct tumbleweed mitigation on the Naval Weapons Systems Training Facility along Bombing Range Road from April 16 to 18 during daylight hours, weather permitting, according to a release from the Navy. The tumbleweeds will be removed by controlled burning to manage the buildup along the eastern fence line. This preemptive action will minimize the spread of tumbleweeds and reduce the amount of avail- able fuel prior to the annual fire season, the Navy says. The public may encounter various fire-suppression apparatus along Bombing Range Road, but traffic flow on the road should not be impacted, they say.
