This is a very pres- tigious honor and worthy cause, as the game raises money for the children in the Shriners Hospitals. The last football player to be selected to play in the East- West Shrine from Ione High School was Paul Neiffer in 2005. Ione football coaches JJ Rosenberg and Tanner Rietmann describe Josh as a dedicated athlete who car- ries himself with maturity and a strong sense of self. “During his senior season, Josh was the foundation of our team, both physically and mentally. He did ev- erything asked of him at the highest level of effort. He set an example for all of our players each day both on and off the field. Josh is absolutely deserving of this honor and the Ione community could not be more proud,” says Assistant Coach Rietmann.
