Heppner Gazette-Times, Heppner, Oregon Wednesday, February 6, 2019 -- FOUR MEASLES -Continued from PAGE ONE child care center, the pub- lic health department will review all staff and student vaccination records to de- termine the risk of further spread. -Keeping children in school/child care is a prior- ity, but measles is a serious disease. If an unvaccinat- ed person is exposed to measles, they will not be allowed to go to school or child care during the time period when they could become sick, usually for 21 days after exposure. This may be extended if there are more measles cases. -People excluded from school or child care after a measles exposure are asked to stay home to avoid exposing others in the com- munity. -Now is a great time for all families, teachers and school administrators to review their vaccine re- cords and get their vaccines up to date. Anyone with questions about measles infection or the measles vaccine should call their primary care pro- vider or their local county health department. The Morrow County Health Department can be reached at 541-676-5421. 4-H ambassadors selected CA man arrested on multiple charges Pictured (L-R): Jake Heideman (Ione), Cody Fletcher (Hep- pner), Amelia Baker (Heppner), Grace Ogden (Ione), Stephine Wendler (Ione), Joe O’Brien (Boardman) and Quinton Orr (Ukiah). It was reported that the do- nations from this year’s event would be donated to Asher’s Army and that was a mistake. At this time there is no chosen recipient for the fundraiser, so all donations will be placed in the “Pot of Gold” to eventually be distributed back into the community.
