of his players have gone on
to play college basketball.
The morning session
will be from 9 to 11 a.m.
for fifth through eighth
grade girls, with a focus
on fundamentals. The af-
ternoon session is from 1
to 3 p.m. for fifth through
12 th grade, with a focus on
shooting. The evening ses-
sion, from 5 to 8 p.m., will

Basketball camp scheduled
The Heppner girls bas-
ketball team will be hosting
a basketball camp on June
11 and 12 at the Heppner Jr/
Sr High school for girls go-
ing into fifth to 12 th grades
next year. The camp is free
to all Heppner students and
all girls interested in play-
ing basketball are encour-
aged to attend.
The camp is being led
by highly acclaimed Mi-
chael Meek of George Fox
University. Meek, the 2011-

tural Coalition, funded by
Oregon’s Cultural Trust
Foundation is now accept-
ing proposals for the 2019
grant period now through
August 1. Categories for
qualifying groups or proj-
ects are literary, historical
preservation, visual and
performing arts, or hu-
manities and cultural or-
ganizations. Complete
guidelines and grant appli-
cation for 2019 projects can
be obtained by contacting

must meet criteria noted on
the application and include
a timeline with the project
to be completed no later

Morrow County Cul-
tural Coalition is seeing

once a year, in October, to
determine projects to be
funded from the Oregon

HHS to add girls wrestling
Heppner High School
will be adding girls wres-
tling to their sports roster
for the next school year.
Girls wrestling is now an
OSAA sanctioned sport,
with girls wrestling other
girls at tournaments, includ-
ing a district and state meet.
A wrestling camp will
be held at Heppner High
School June 11 through 14
from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in the
cafeteria. Any sixth through
12 th grade girls and boys
interested in wrestling are
invited to attend. The cost
to attend is $25.
