Low gross on the field went to Nancy Propheter, low net to Pat Dougherty and Judy Harris and least putts of the field went to Pat Edmundson. Low gross for flight A was Lola Heideman and low net went to Eva Kilken- ny. Least putts was Virginia Grant. Flight B low gross went to Betty Burns, low net to Darcee Mitchell and least putts was Karen Hague- wood. Mitchell also had the long drive for flight B. Kris Lindner took low gross on flight C and low net resulted in a tie between Bev Steagall and Lorrene Montgomery. Least putts was also a tie between Mary Riggs and Jackie Allstott. Lola Heideman got a chip-in on holes three and eight and Shirley Martin got one on hole nine. 4-H camp to be held at Cutsforth Park in June The Tri-County 4-H camp will be held June 14- 17 at Cutsforth Park. The country western theme, this year is “Roping you in for some 4-H fun.” The camp is open to all youth from Gilliam, Wheeler and Morrow counties and they need not be already enrolled in 4-H to attend. Cost is $85 if registered by May 25 and $100 if registered from May 25 through June 4. The registration fee includes a tee shirt. The camp is hosted by the Oregon State University staff from the three coun- ties. Youth will spend three nights camping in tents with their counselors and peers, participating in educational workshops, craft activities, a hike and a dance. Skits and songs are performed around a campfire each night. Scholarships are avail- able to enrolled 4-H mem- bers. Those interested should contact their county 4-H office. Several Willow Creek Country Club men golfers participated in the senior tournament at The Dalles Country Club on Apr. 9. The Columbia Blue Senior Golf Association hosted 112 players for ideal play- ing conditions on the par 71 course. WCCC winners in the Columbia Division (handi- cap 17 and below) were Ron Bowman placing fifth in gross with a score of 85 and Barry Munkers plac- ing fifth in net with a score of 73. WCCC winners in the Blue Division (handicap 18-23) were Steve Marlatt placing sixth in gross with a 95 and Gary Watkins plac- ing third in net with a 72. The Senior Division (handicap 24 and above) winners from WCCC were Bill Morris taking fifth in gross with a 102 and John Kilkenny placing second in net with a score of 72. The next CBSGA tour- nament will be held at the Willow Creek Country Club in Heppner on May 14. Tee off times will be at 7 and 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Breakfast and lunch will be available for a nominal charge at the club house, served by the WCCC ladies. Peterson joined the board in 1993 and is the cur- rent board’s longest serving director. He is president of Daily Bread Farms, a fam- ily owned farm near Ione. Joel and his wife, Lea, a middle school teacher, have three children. Gonzalez joined the board in 2015. He owns an electrical contracting busi- ness in Richland, WA. Saturday, May 5 at 1 p.m. at the county road department in Lexington on Hwy 74 and 4 p.m. at Riverside High School in Boardman, the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting a safety event and a BMX show featur- ing Robert Castillo’s BMX Freestyle Team. This event is free to the public and there will be hotdogs and beverages for everyone. There will also be a bike raffle, free helmets and fit- tings, a bike safety course and boating, 4-wheeler and fire safety information. Saturday, May 5 at 8:30 a.m., Ione Thousand Yard Shoot fundraiser at Frank and Joe Halvorsen farm. Three rifle classes with cash prizes, gun raffle, door prizes, clay pigeons and pistol range.
