The JV team’s first op- ponent was Ione. Scores for the three games played were: 20-25 Heppner, 25-19 Ione, 18-16 Heppner for the win. The second opponent was the Union Bobcats. Scores for those two games were: 16-25 Union, 18-25 Union. The final three games were against Condon/ Wheeler. Scores were: 25- 18 Heppner, 25-20 Condon, 17-15 Condon for the win. Although the Mustangs did not win all of the games, the play put them up to a higher level, which will benefit league play. Sheriff’s Report Morrow County Sheriffs Office released the following citizen assist at River Point deputy. Farms on Paterson Ferry -MCSO officer initiated information: Rd. Person would like to activity at I-84/Paterson September 1-3: Morrow County Sheriff’s Office and ODFW responded to a call where a deer was hit and ap- peared to have a broken leg near Highway 206 Condon. Referred to another agency. -MCSO responded to a theft complaint on E Main St., Ione. Log splitter was taken from the property in the last week and a half. -MCSO responded for a citizen assist at the Love’s Travel Stop and Country Store on Tower Rd., Board- man. Phone lost at location listed while assisting a dis- abled motorist and it was reported that an additional line and charges are show- ing up on his account, even though he has replaced his phone. Advised to report to phone company. - MCSO and BAMB responded to a report of a blue or silver passenger car on what was described as Bombing Center Rd., Boardman that was over the white line and in a strange position. Reported an el- derly woman inside, mouth open, head back. Unable to locate anyone in distress. -Parking complaint oc- curred on SE Utah Ave, Irri- gon where there is a tractor in Utah and Eighth. People moving in were advised of city ordinance. -MCSO responded to a speak to supervisor regard- ing interpretation of the law. -MCSO responded to a report of pills by the gutter on the sidewalk at NE Court St/SE Court St, Heppner. It was candy. -MCSO officer initiated activity at I-84/Highway 730, Boardman for disabled vehicles. -EMS responded to a call at Highway 74/Dee Cox Rd., Heppner for a 30 year-old female complain- ing of chest pains, difficulty breathing and starting to gasp. Patient transported to PMH. -MCSO officer initiated activity at NW Main Ave/ NE Second St., Irrigon for a vehicle parked in front of a fire hydrant. Female was looking for an address. -MCSO civil service on Canal Ln., Boardman. FED service. -MCSO responded to a P&P home visit at NW Jewell Ct, Irrigon. Juvenile director doing interstate compact home investiga- tion. -MCSO received a driving complaint regard- ing a black 4-door Jetta, really dirty, with 2 people inside that passed on the shoulder. Driver contacted at the Chevron station and did not want to speak to the Ferry Rd, Boardman for a vehicle check. Subject was fixing cargo that was on the roof. -MCSO officer initiated activity at I-84 E, Board- man for a possible disabled vehicle. Driver repaired the problem. -MCSO responded to a report of a disturbance at Castle Rock Apartments on Tatone St., Boardman. Per- son advised her boyfriend hit her in the arm and her face with his hand. Fran- cisco Ivan Ramirez was arrested for Assault IV-DV and Harassment-DV with bail of $20,000 and trans- ported to UCJ. -MCSO responded to a report of a gray Dodge Jour- ney on I-84 E that is swerv- ing in and out of traffic, straddling both lanes and brake checked the report- ing person. Deputy located vehicle for traffic stop. -MCSO received a complaint from a FEDEX worker regarding an ap- paloosa horse on Depot Ln., Irrigon that has a wa- ter trough only half full of water and completely full of algae. - Wa r r a n t a r r e s t a t MCSO. Jessica Ann With- row was arrested by Yakima PD on two Morrow County Circuit warrants for FTA I, bail $40,000 and Posses- sion of meth, bail $40,000. The wins boosted their record to 9-3 overall and they have won 23 sets while only losing 9 on the season. The team is cur- rently the 16th ranked team in the state out of the 39 2A teams that play volleyball. Heppner hosted the S o u t h Wa s c o C o u n t y Redsides and the Irrigon Knights last Tuesday. The Mustangs played the Red- sides first and won the tough five set match by scores of 17-25, 25-16, 18-25, 25-18 and 15-12. The team then swept the Knights by scores of 25-19, 25-19 and 25-17. The Mustangs then traveled to Helix on Satur- day for the Grizzly Invita- tional. Heppner matched up first in pool play with the Cove Leopards and won in straight sets by the scores of 25-14 and 25-18. Next up was the host Helix Griz- zlies. The Grizzlies won the first set 25-22 and the Mustangs took the second 25-15. In their final pool play match, the Mustangs defeated the Dufur Rangers by the scores of 25-7 and 25-23. Heppner then entered bracket play and defeated the Mac-Hi Pioneers by the scores of 25-6 and 25- 12. That win put the team into the semi-finals where they met the Powder Valley Badgers. Heppner won that matchup by the scores of 25-18 and 25-22. The championship match for the Mustangs would be against the host Helix Grizzlies. The excit- ing match would go three sets with Mustangs winning the championship by the scores of 14-25, 25-18 and 15-10. It was a great week of volleyball for the team and it doesn’t get any easier this week. On Thursday the Mustangs host the always tough Culver Bulldogs in their first conference match. They then leave directly af- ter that and spend the night in Yakima, WA. The tourna- ment the next day will last the entire day. a complaint about them. Didn’t have a vehicle with him. Report of a camper with cats that are not being taken care of. -MCSO responded to a motor vehicle accident on I-84 E, Boardman. Patient with back pain transported to GSH. -MCSO received a re- port of a semi with 53 foot box trailer number 531281 swerving in and out of lanes on I-84 E, Boardman. Un- able to locate. -MCSO officer initiated activity at I-84 W, Board- man. High-speed assist for OSP headed into Morrow County. OSP was able to get the vehicle to yield at MP 177. -MCSO officer initiated activity for a civil attempt at Bunker Hill Ln., Heppner. -MCSO officer initiated activity at I-84 W, Board- man for a disabled vehicle. -MCSO received a re- port of a large branch in the road on Willow Creek Rd., Heppner and another just past Wilkenson’s that could cause an accident. -MCSO received a complaint of a black car in front of his house on NE Ninth St., Irrigon with the music blaring. Music was turned down after the person hung up the phone. -MCSO assisted Board- man PD regarding a person reporting that his son ran away. UCSO was advised and they will be making a call for service. -MCSO responded to a call at A Plus Storage on Yates Ln, Boardman. Person is on the property and there is a supposedly a restraining order stating he can not be there. Unable to locate the male. -MCSO officer initiated activity at Bombing Range Rd, Boardman for a dis- abled vehicle. Driver hav- ing trouble with brakes, but does not need assistance. -MCSO responded to a noise complaint at Rippee Rd/Wilson Ln, Boardman regarding a large party with loud music. -MCSO received a complaint at Highway 730/ Paterson Ferry Rd, Irri- gon of a black Cadillac fe- male driver going towards Boardman passing in no passing lanes and going approximately 100 mph. Unable to locate. -MCSO officer initi- ated activity for a warrant service attempt at North- western Motel, N Main St., Heppner.
