For Flight B, Judy Har- ris and Karen Haguewood Obituaries Francis F. ‘Skip’ Connor Jr. Francis F. “Skip” Con- nor Jr. 88, of Heppner died Saturday, August 20, 2016 at his home. A memorial service with military hon- ors will be held Thursday, August 25, at 1 p.m. at the Heppner Elks Lodge. A private family committal service will be held at the Heppner Masonic Cem- etery. Skip was born June 1, 1928 at Heppner, the son of Frank and Gladys Rippee Connor. He was raised and attended school in Hep- pner and was very active in sports. After graduation August’s Yard of the Month Recognition went to Dave and Tricia Gunderson at 155 Court Street. The well-cared-for home and yard was owned and lived in by Tricia’s grandparents, Edgar and Ila Albert, in the early 1970s. Then her parents, Jim and Pat Prock, lived there from 1977 to 2012, when the Gunderson’s purchased it. The next lunch meeting of the Heppner Chamber of Commerce will be an all entities report on Thursday, Oct. 6, at noon in Heppner City Hall conference room. Community lunch menu Christian Life Center volunteers will serve lunch on Wednesday, Sept. 14, at St. Patrick’s Senior Center. Lunch will include baked chicken, garlic roasted potatoes, green beans, green salad, hot rolls and peanut butter pudding. Milk is served at each meal. Suggested donation is $3.50 per meal.
