Penny’s Puppets to promote
Ione library ‘goes for gold’

Ione Public Library’s summer reading program kicked off Monday, June 13, with registration
at the Traveling Lantern Theatre’s “Vladimir Goes for Gold” show, which invited audience
members to imagine participating in the Olympics. The free reading program continues Tues-
day mornings from 10 a.m. till noon through July 26; children entering kindergarten through

honor roll
CORVALLIS, Ore.—
Several local students have
made the Oregon State Uni-
versity Scholastic Honor
Roll for spring term 2016,
the university announced
this week.
Ione students named to
the honor roll were Oskar
M. Peterson, sophomore in
pre-mechanical engineer-
ing, and Mary V. Rietmann,
senior in human devel-
opment and family sci-
ence, both with a straight-A
average, and August H.
Peterson, sophomore in
agricultural sciences, and
Makenna M. Ramos, senior
in human development and
family science, both with a
3.5 or better GPA.
From Heppner, Mag-
gie K. Collins, senior in
agricultural sciences was
named to the honor roll with
a 3.5 or better GPA.
Maria G. Rodriguez
of Boardman, sophomore
studying nutrition, and Jes-
sica Nava of Irrigon, a
sophomore in biology, were
also named to the honor
roll.
To be on the honor roll,
students must carry at least
12 graded hours of course
work.
SALEM—The Oregon
College Savings Plan is
bringing puppeteer Pen-
ny Walter to two Mor-
row County libraries next
month. Walter will share
her Penny’s Puppets show
at the Oregon Trail Library
District’s Heppner branch
on July 7 at 10 a.m. and at
the Ione Public Library on
July 26 at 11 a.m.
Penny’s Puppets is an
“imaginative show that
takes the audience on a
magical, musical journey
packed full of comedy,
laughter and audience par-
ticipation, blurring the
boundaries between fantasy
and reality to create a fun,
make-believe world where
anything can happen and
usually does.”
The performance is
part of this year’s annual
summer reading program,
On Your Mark, Get Set,
Save! The Oregon College
Savings Plan is underwrit-
ing a series of free special
performances in libraries in
communities with a popu-
lation of 10,000 or less to
engage and motivate young
readers, while helping these
smaller libraries drive traf-
ic and encourage summer
reading.
While at the libraries
enjoying the performances,
parents are encouraged to
pick up an entry form for

Oregon College Savings
Plan account, plus $500
for the winner’s library. Up
to 15 winners—three from
each Oregon congressional
district—will be selected
in a random drawing at the
conclusion of the program.
The program is a partner-
ship between the Oregon
College Savings Plan, the
Oregon State Library and
the Oregon Library Asso-
ciation.
The summer reading
campaign launched May 1
and will run through Aug.
26. According to the Or-
egon State Library, 206,425
youth from birth through
age 18 signed up for last
year’s summer reading pro-
gram at public libraries
throughout Oregon; col-
lectively, they read 144,643
books. At least 68,735
achieved their reading goal
and completed the 2015
summer reading program.
To participate in the
campaign, Oregon par-
ents/guardians/grandpar-
ents must irst enroll their
children in the 2016 sum-
mer reading program at
their local public library,
then ill out a postage‐paid
entry card, available at the
library, and drop it in the
mail. All entries must be
postmarked by Aug. 26 and
received by Sept. 1. Visit

against several manufacturers of liquid crystal display (“LCD”)
lat panels for illegal price ixing. The Attorney General has
settled with all Defendants for a total of $21,505,000, and eligible
consumers are entitled to money back!
Who Is Included?
If you purchased a lat panel TV, monitor or laptop with an
LCD lat screen in Oregon between 2002 and 2006, you may
be entitled to money! The device must have been purchased
from someone other than the company that manufactured the lat
panel component, such as from an electronics retailer or a device
manufacturer other than one of the Defendants. The purchase
must have been for personal use, not business use.
What Are My Rights And Opions?
File a claim: Consumers need to ile a claim to obtain
beneits in this settlement. Claims can be completed online
at www.OregonScreenSettlement.com or by mailing the
claim form, available for download at the website, to the
Settlement Administrator. The deadline for iling claims is
September 20, 2016. State and local government entities will
receive a share of the settlement automatically and do not need
to ile a claim.
