For Obituaries: Obituaries are published in the Heppner GT at no charge and are edited to
meet news guidelines. Families wishing to include information not included in the guidelines
or who wish to have the obituary written in a certain way must purchase advertising space
for the obituary.
For Letters to the Editor: Letters to the Editor MUST be signed by the author. The Heppner
GT will not publish unsigned letters. All letters MUST include the author’s address and phone
number for use by the GT ofice. The GT reserves the right to edit letters. The GT is not

Dougherty named to
ASU dean’s list
Heppner graduate Ryan Dougherty has been named
to the dean’s list of the Arizona State University School
of Nutrition and Health Promotion for spring semester
2016, the university announced recently.
Dougherty is the daughter of Cliff and Dawna Dough-
erty of Heppner and just completed her sophomore year
at ASU enrolled in the Speech and Language Science
Program to become a speech and language pathologist.

He is survived by his

The annual Jo Pettyjohn Memorial Golf Tournament took place this past weekend at Wil-
low Creek Country Club. Lady golfers from throughout Oregon and Washington attended

The 2016 Fourth of
July Golf Tournament is
planned for Sunday, July
3, at Willow Creek Coun-
try Club.
Players are asked to
arrive at WCCC by 8:30
a.m. to check in and obtain
hole assignments. Goling
will begin at 9 a.m. Putting
contests will run through-
out the day, and beverages
and snacks will be avail-
able on the course.
The $60 fee includes
golf, lunch and beverages.
Proceeds from the tourna-
ment will go to the Jason
Halvorsen and Mike Mat-
thews scholarship funds
and the Ione Fourth of July
Celebration Fund.
