Not pictured: Hunter Nichols, Gibson McCurry, Leo Waite, Saul Erickson, Tristan Moses and Carson Brosnan. -Contributed photos Irrigon council to meet Changes made to user fees, utility rates The City of Irrigon will hold its monthly meeting Tuesday, June 21, at 6 p.m. Agenda items include a police services inter-gov- ernmental agreement with Morrow County Sheriff’s Ofice; Irrigon Enhancing Properties Policy; public hearing on 2016-17 budget items; and employee com- pensation per established wage scale. Visit the city’s website at www.ci.irrigon. or.us for more updated and historical information. In other business, the Irrigon 2016 enhancement process is underway. The deadline is July 1 to submit for potential funding. The enhancement pro- cess is for upcoming proj- ects that will enhance the greater Irrigon area. Proposals must meet the application criteria and benefit the Irrigon as a whole, not just the respec- tive members or customers of an organization. In other city business, the Irrigon City Council adopted three basic user fees on Tuesday, May 17. These fees will be directed to support the police service agreement with Morrow County Sheriff in the gen- eral fund, and fees toward street lighting and street maintenance in the street fund. With these additional resources going towards operating expenses, monies that historically have been We invite you to finance with us! transferred from the general fund to the street fund will be redirected toward capital improvement projects for improved street lighting and street improvements. Effective July 1, the combined fees will be a $10 per month charge per ERU within city limits. A single family dwelling equals one ERU. The Irrigon City Coun- cil also adjusted utility rates back on Tuesday, Dec. 15. This adjustment and slight increase is to con- tinue building strength to the city’s iscal resources. Effective July 1, the minimum bill for a single family dwelling, inside the city limits, will be $100 per month. Basic water will be $23.63 with the water revenue bond de- creasing to $15.32 and ba- sic sewer will be $46.17 with sewer revenue bond decreased to $14.88. Addi- tionally, water used over the minimum 1,336 cubic feet (10,000 gallons) increases to $0.02596 from $0.01526. All the adjustments and increases are earmarked for Capital Improvements (Reserves). DA’s Report Morrow County Dis- trict Attorney Justin Nelson has released the following report: -Juan Antonio Sanchez, 44, was convicted of assault IV, a Class A Misdemeanor; sentence of 180 days jail time was suspended and the defendant sentenced to 24 months bench proba- tion. Probation conditions included no contact with the victim, anger management evaluation and treatment, and 60 hours of community service. Additional counts of theft II and strangula- tion were dismissed.
