For Letters to the Editor: Letters to the Editor MUST be signed by the author. The Heppner
GT will not publish unsigned letters. All letters MUST include the author’s address and phone
number for use by the GT ofice. The GT reserves the right to edit letters. The GT is not
responsible for accuracy of statements made in letters. Any letters expressing thanks will
be placed in the classiieds under “Card of Thanks” at a cost of $10.
Christian church
to have services in
Lonerock this week
Heppner Christian Church will hold services this
week, May 29, at 11 a.m. at the Lonerock Community
Church. A potluck will follow the service. Everyone is
welcome. Anyone needing a ride may call 541-561-8881.
No services will be held in Heppner this week.
Shared Ministry
plans ifth Sunday
worship
On May 29, a ifth Sunday of the month, the Shared
Ministry of Hope Lutheran Church and All Saints Epis-
copal Church (now also known as “Hopeful Saints Min-
istry”) will gather at All Saints for morning prayer at 10

Robert J. “Bob” Kilkenny—Robert J. “Bob”
Kilkenny, 86, of Heppner, died Tuesday, May 24, 2016
at his home. He was born July 13, 1929 at Heppner.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held Thursday,
May 26, at 7 p.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Hep-

Bag sale planned for June 1
The Neighborhood Center will be closed on Monday,
May 30, in observance of Memorial Day.
The $10 bag sale for clothing and shoes will take
place Wednesday, June 1. All other merchandise is 50
percent off that day.
The new book room and dressing room are completed
and open to the public, and the center can now accept
small donations from the community. Larger donations
will be accepted beginning Tuesday, May 31.
