For Public/Legal Notices: public/legal notices deadline is Monday at 5 p.m. Dates for pub-
lication must be speciied. Afidavits must be required at the time of submission. Afidavits
require three weeks to process after last date of publication (a sooner return date must be
speciied if required).
For Obituaries: Obituaries are published in the Heppner GT at no charge and are edited to
meet news guidelines. Families wishing to include information not included in the guidelines
or who wish to have the obituary written in a certain way must purchase advertising space
for the obituary.
For Letters to the Editor: Letters to the Editor MUST be signed by the author. The Heppner
GT will not publish unsigned letters. All letters MUST include the author’s address and phone
number for use by the GT ofice. The GT reserves the right to edit letters. The GT is not
responsible for accuracy of statements made in letters. Any letters expressing thanks will

Richard G. ‘Dick’ Devin Sr.
Richard G. “Dick”
Devin Sr., 64, of Kenne-
wick, WA passed away in
Richland, WA on April 10,
2016, with his three kids at
his side. A graveside service
was held on Friday, April
15, 1 p.m. at the Hermiston
Cemetery, Hermiston, OR.
He was born in Jack-
sonville, FL on August 31,
1951, to Glenn and Dar-
lene Devin. He spent most
of his childhood in North
Bend, OR, attending high
school there. He eventually
transferred and graduated
from South Umpqua High
School in 1969. That same
year, he joined the family
business and Standard Oil.
He married Sandra “Sam”
Janssen in 1970. Later that
year, they had their first
child, Richard Jr., and over
the next seven years added
two more, Doug and Renee.
They lived in Myrtle
Creek, OR, surrounded by
both sides of the extended
family, until 1974, when
they moved to Crescent
City, CA. In 1978, Devin

University.

teaches physical education
and coaches CrossFit.
The groom started his
schooling at Quarter Hill
High School and later went
on to go to Brooks College
in Long Beach, CA. He
now works as marketing

Fowler named to fall

FOREST GROVE, OR—Bryce Fowler of Heppner
has been named to the dean’s list at Paciic University for
fall semester 2015.
Fowler is among 411 undergraduate students at Pa-
ciic University to achieve this academic honor.
To qualify for the dean’s list at Paciic, a student must
achieve a term grade-point average 3.70 (4.0 scale) and
complete 12 or more graded hours.

our support of Melissa Lindsay for Morrow County Judge/
County Commissioner.
Melissa is an owner/operator of a ifth-generation
farm. Born and raised in Morrow County, her deep roots
provide an awareness of Morrow County’s diverse needs.
With the new county government structure, it is time
for a fresh, energetic person to be a part of the county
commission. Melissa Lindsay has the strong character
and abilities needed to successfully perform the duties
of Morrow County Judge and to help lead the transition
in our county government.
