Local church plans family-friendly new year’s celebration On Thursday, Dec. 31, from 7 p.m. to midnight, the Heppner Seventh-day Adventist Church invites the community to turn out for nonalcoholic family fun. Daniel ‘Dhel’ Hibbard Daniel “Dhel” Hibbard, 64, of Heppner passed away Saturday, December 19, 2015, at Pioneer Memorial Hospital long term care in Heppner after two battles with cancer. At his request no funeral will be held in Heppner. Disposition was by cremation, and a grave- side inurnment service will be held March 4, 2016, at 11 a.m., at Olney Cemetery in Pendleton, OR. He was born February 13, 1951, at St. Anthony Hospital in Pendleton to James E. “Slim” Hibbard and Minnie L. Wood Hib- bard. He was raised and educated in Pendleton. He was married and divorced twice. He is survived by his brother, George “Levi” Hibbard; nieces, Christy L. Munden of Pasco, WA and Kelly J. Buche of Electric City, WA; many cousins and relatives in Oregon, Washington and Texas; and trusted and admired friends: Alan and Sherie Gregory of Heppner, Buz and Stacy Wainwright of Heppner, Bart and Jessica Lentz of Heppner, Tommy Lentz of Pasco, WA, and many, many more. He was predeceased by his father, James; his mother, Minnie; both sets of grandparents; other cous- ins; and many friends. Gladys May (Lovgren) Alderman Gladys May (Lovgren) Alderman, 96, of Heppner, passed away peacefully at Pioneer Memorial Hospital in Heppner on the morning of December 19, 2015. To celebrate a life well lived and bid Gladys a final “Happy Trails,” grave- side services will be held at the Heppner Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2016.
