Donations needed for holiday coat, toy exchange Donations are being sought for a holiday coat and toy exchange next week. Exchange organizers Dakota Rice and Tylynn Cimmiyotti say they are looking for gently used coats and sweaters, hats, scarves, gloves, snow boots, socks, warm pajamas, blan- kets, books and toys, as well as wrapping paper, ribbons and tags. Donations can be dropped off at the Mus- tang Diner in Heppner. Cimmiyotti says donations are preferred before the exchange, but anything brought that day will also be appreciated. HHS holds coat drive The Heppner High School Associated Student Body is currently holding a coat drive for the beneit of the Neighborhood Center. The Neighborhood Center is in need of donations to help keep local families warm during the cold winter months. Coats of all sizes are needed. The coat drive will be held from now until Dec. 7. Alice Marion (Peterson) Ployhar Alice Marion (Peter- son) Ployhar, long-time Heppner resident, was called to perpetual life on November 15, 2015 after a short illness. Elizabeth G. ‘Beth’ Welborn Elizabeth G. “Beth” Welborn, 92, of Lonerock, OR died, Sunday, Novem- ber 22, 2015 at a care facil- ity in Culver, OR. A private family graveside service will be held Friday at the Heppner Masonic Cem- etery. Beth was born May 12, 1924 at Quincy, IL, the daughter of Clarence and Ethel Means Fielding. She was raised and attended school in San Diego, CA. On December 3, 1944 she married Thomas W. Welborn at Chula Vista, CA. In 1948, the couple moved to Oregon and lived at Kinzua, OR for three years. She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Condon. Beth is survived by her son, Timothy P. Welborn and his wife Carol, and a grandson, Clark Welborn and his wife Jessica.
