She works for Hayden Den-
tal in Hermiston.
Gorham said she joined
the board because she saw
a need to be illed.
“They needed people
on the board and I’ve been
in and around it my whole
life, so I thought I could
help,” she said. Like Tay-
lor, though, she felt it was
time to step aside, saying
she was too busy with her
children to do the position
justice.
“It wasn’t fair that I
hold the position and not
it. It was time that I stepped
down,” she said.
Both encourage com-
munity members to step
up and take part in the fair
board.
“I think the families
need to get involved with
the fair and on the fair
board. Keep the fair go-
ing,” said Taylor, adding
that “Everybody has to
work but it doesn’t take that
much time.
“You get the opportuni-
ty to see what these kids are
doing. That was one of my
biggest deals, watching the
more than I would have
sitting at home,” he added.
“The fair board always
needs new ideas and new
energy to make it work.”
