Gorham said she joined the board because she saw a need to be illed. “They needed people on the board and I’ve been in and around it my whole life, so I thought I could help,” she said. Like Tay- lor, though, she felt it was time to step aside, saying she was too busy with her children to do the position justice. “It wasn’t fair that I hold the position and not it. It was time that I stepped down,” she said. Both encourage com- munity members to step up and take part in the fair board. “I think the families need to get involved with the fair and on the fair board. Keep the fair go- ing,” said Taylor, adding that “Everybody has to work but it doesn’t take that much time. “You get the opportuni- ty to see what these kids are doing.
