The Heppner Ag Program recently developed a pheasant barn project with the intent to raise and release baby pheasants. This project came with a lot of support from local man Sam Hornbeck. Hornbeck recently passed and, as a tribute to him, the FFA chapter voted to name the barn in his honor. At the banquet, FFA members from Ione presented a memorial sign to Heppner members for just that purpose. The sign was designed and created by Tyson Epperson and David Smidmajer during their time in shop class in Ione.
