COMMITTEE MEETING
A public meeting of the
Budget Committee of
the Boardman Rural Fire
Protection District, Morrow
County State of Oregon, to
discuss the budget for the
fiscal year July 1, 2015 to
June 30, 2016 will be held
at the Boardman Rural Fire
District Offices, 300 SW
Wilson Lane, Boardman,
Oregon. The meeting will
take place on the 27th day
of May 2015 at 7:00 p.m.
The purpose of the meeting
is to receive the budget
message and to receive
comment from the public
on the budget. A copy of
the budget document may
be inspected or obtained on
or after the 26th day of May,
2015 at 300 SW Wilson
Lane, between the hours of
9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
This is a public meeting
where deliberation of the
Budget Committee will
take place. Any person
may appear at the meeting
and discuss the proposed
programs with the Budget
Committee.

Mustangs trample
TigerScots in twinbill
Mustang Tim Jaca leads off during Saturday’s twinbill against
the TigerScots. The Mustangs won both halves of the double-
header by scores of 12-1 and 4-3, leaving them with a 5-5
league record for the season. They next travel to face Irrigon
in another double-header this Saturday beginning at 11 a.m.

Heppner honors
senior baseball player
Saturday was Senior Day for Mustang Baseball. Cade Arbo-
gast, pictured here with his mother, Chandra Arbogast, is the
only Heppner senior on the team this year; he was honored
during the double header against Weston-McEwen/Griswold
last weekend. Also a senior this year is Ione player Zach Irons.

Mustangs aim for the top at
district meet this week
The Heppner track
teams had a busy week,
first attending the Umatilla
Finale on Thursday, May
7, and then travelling to the
Weston McEwen Colum-
bia Basin Conference pre-
district meet on Saturday
in Athena. Heppner men
brought home top honors
from Umatilla while wom-
en placed fifth. In Athena,
both Heppner teams took
third in a five-team field.
Mustang track and field
will next attend the 2A-5
Columbia Basin Confer-
ence Championship in
Stanfield this Friday, May
15. Field events start at 10
a.m. and running events
start at 1 p.m.
In the state 2A Top 10
from Heppner are Kaden
Clark, #9 in long jump,
and Kelly Wilson, # in
long jump and tied for #9
in triple jump.

county spelling contest
Heppner—Thirteen
students from Morrow
County School District
recently won spelling con-
tests at their individual
schools and advanced to
compete at the county-level
contest held Monday in
Pendleton, the district an-
nounced.
Heppner elementary
winners include Connor
Brosnan, Division 1, and
Serenity Rodriguezm Divi-
sion 2. Division 3 winner
Patrick Collins represented
Heppner High School.
Other county winners
include Kourtney Krogh
from A.C. Houghton El-
ementary; Torie Player and
Abigail Prosser from Ir-
rigon Elementary; Dairys
Pena from Sam Boardman
Elementary; Kevin Navarro
and Mary Hammond from
Windy River Elementary;
Lilee Roggow and Ian Mea-

At the county contest
May 11, the first place win-
ner from each division was
