Mustang girls dominate golf scene
The Heppner Mustangs
girls’ golf team continued
its dominance of the lo-
cal golf scene by winning
two more tournaments.
Last Monday the girls won
the Wildhorse Big School
Invitational and on Fri-
day they placed first at the
Nixyaawii tournament held
at Wildhorse. The Mustang
boys also participated at the
Nixyaawii tournament and
finished in second place.
In winning the Wild-
horse Invitational the girls’
team shot a team best 364.
They outpaced Pendleton
(368), La Grande (373),
Hermiston (379), The
Dalles (413) and Baker
(479) to get the win. It was
quite an accomplishment
to defeat these 5A and 4A
teams.
