impressive win over the
Pilot Rock Rockets by the
score of 73-44. The Mus-
tangs record is 10-1 overall
and they are now 1-0 in Co-
lumbia Basin Conference
play. They are currently the
number-one ranked team in
the OSAA 2A State Basket-
ball rankings.
The Mustangs jumped
out to an early lead over
the Rockets as they at-
tacked their zone defense
and scored many easy bas-
kets. Heppner led 16-5 at
the end of the first quarter
and then stretched the lead
to 36-16 at halftime.
The Rockets came out
hot in the third quarter
and scored seven straight
unanswered points. The

could not keep up with the
Rockets in the third quarter.
Heppner was outscored
20-5 and trailed 40-15 as
the fourth quarter started.
The Mustangs did win the
fourth quarter 9-8, but it
was too little too late. That
made the final score of the
game 48-24.

scoring by Maddie Lindsay
and Kelly Wilson, who had
7 points each. Paige Grieb

The Mustangs have a
tough schedule ahead of
them this week. The team
will face off against the
