Aldrich memorial next month In honor of Clifford G. Aldrich’s life and service to country, on Feb. 7 at 1 p.m., the Ione American Legion Post #95 will place a military plaque with honors at the Highview Cemetery, Ione. There are numerous 4-H clubs around Morrow County with many diverse projects; independent study is also an option for proj- ects without formal clubs. Popular projects for junior through senior levels in- clude but are not limited to livestock projects such as beef, swine or rabbits; horse; home economics like sewing, cooking or Fashion Review; art projects; pho- tography; sciences like out- door sciences, aerospace, or robotics; horticulture and gardening; communications projects like public speak- ing or creative writing; and leadership opportunities such as being a 4-H camp counselor, 4-H ambassador, or junior leaders. For members ages five to eight, at the Cloverbud level, similar projects are available to those listed above. Contact the local of- fice for complete details and information. Cloverbuds do not pay a registration fee to enroll in 4-H. In addition to oppor- tunities for new members, the Morrow County 4-H program is also seeking volunteers for this “learn by doing” program. Com- mitments can range from a year to a few weeks to one time only and can cover the gamut of interests and programs available.
