O ne o f the p re m ie r autoharpists in the world. Miller is an accomplished folklorist, histo rian and song collector, having a repertoire o f over 5,000 songs. He accom panies his baritone voice with finger- picking acoustic guitar and stunning autoharp melodies. A masterful entertainer. Miller performs nationally and has d is tin g u is h e d himself as one of the great interpreters o f A m erican folk tales and folk songs. His perform ances appeal to all ages. The Heppner program will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 15 at the Oregon Trail Library D istrict’s branch library. Miller also will appear at the Boardman library at 2 p.m. that same day. Garcia announced last week that the enrollment deadline for the 2012 and 2013 Emergency Assistance for Livestock, Honeybees and Farm-Raised Fish Program (ELAP) has been extended to A ug. 15. O rig in a lly , p ro g ra m s ig n - u p w as scheduled to end Aug. 1. Fhe new deadline gives livestock, honeybee and farm-raised fish producers who experienced losses because of disease, adverse weather, wildfires or colony collapse disorder between Oct. 1, 2011 and Sept. 30. 2013 an ad d itio n al two weeks to enroll in ELAP. “Because ELAP is an im portant safety net for key sectors o f A m erican agriculture, we’ve provided this two-week extension so that producers can submit required docu m en tatio n and ap p ly for p rogram benefits,” said Garcia. Producers are encouraged to contact their local FSA service center or visit FSA's website at www. fsa.usda.gov for additional in fo rm a tio n re g a rd in g ELAP. ELAP was authorized by the 2 0 14 Farm Bill. The defendant was also given two years post-prison su p e rv isio n , to include a lc o h o l e v a lu a tio n and attendance o f a victim 's impact panel. Fines, fees and assessm ents totaled $691. -William Eugene Stolz, 40, was convicted o f one count o f Theft I, a Class C felony, and sentenced to 24 m onths supervised p robation subject to 90 sanction units with 30 jail units. Probation conditions include substance abuse evaluation, mental health evaluation, 3.75 sanctioned units used for 60 hours o f community service, no contact with do-defendant, and com pletion o f theft counseling. In addition, the defendant was convicted of one count o f Possession of Methamphetamine, a Class C felony, and sentenced to six months prison time with credit for time served and to run c o n c u rre n t with the previous count. Sentence included one year post-prison supervision, in addition, Hickox was co n v icted o f one count o f M enacing, a C lass A m isd e m e a n o r, and was sen ten ced to discharge. In addition, the defendant was convicted o f one count o f Criminal M ischief II, a Class A misdemeanor, and sen ten ced to discharge. A deputy responded and spoke with the reporter, but was unable to locate the vehicle. -MCSO received report from a subject in Boardman who said employees at a care facility forced him to take m edication that the nurse pulled him o ff of. He said he had problems after taking the medication before and was afraid he would have a medical issue. He said he felt fine at the tim e and d id n 't need an ambulance, but wanted to speak to a deputy. A deputy responded and determined th a t the su b je c t w ould speak w ith C om m unity Counseling Solutions the next day. -MCSO received report of a rollover motor vehicle accident on Hwy. 207-Spray, Heppner. One male subject, reported to be conscious but having tro u b le b re a th in g , w as trapped in a white Chevy pickup. MCSO, Heppner Fire Department, Heppner Am b u l a n c e and O SP re sp o n d e d . L ife F lig h t transported the patient. -MCSO received report of a 68-year-old female who advised that she had pain all over her body. Irrigon Ambulance responded and transported her to Good Shepherd Hospital. -lone Fire Department re c e iv e d re p o rt from a deputy that there was a fire on Ju n ip e r C anyon Rd., o ne-half m ile north o f Strawberry Lane with 6 fo o t fla m e s , 40 feet a l o n g t he c r e e k b ed . M C S O r e s p o n d e d . It was determ ined to be a controlled bum that hadn't been called in. -MCSO received report of activity witnessed earlier that day by an off-duty officer at the Boardm an Market.
