The board also voted to
raise the school lunch prices
for next year, but only by 10
cents, for elementary and
junior/senior high school
students, in order to "offset
the continuing increases in
the cost of food,” according
to a board statement. The
district says that the “federal
‘Healthy Hunger-Free Kids
Act,’ which reauthorized
the National School Lunch
program , requires the
district to increase meal
prices to meet federal equity
pricing requirements.”
Elem entary school
lunch prices, currently
$2.25, will be raised to
$2.35 and junior/senior
high school lunches will
increase from $2.50 to
$2.60. Reduced lunches
will remain at 40 cents, as
will adult lunches at $3 and
milk at 40 cents. There will
be no changes in the costs of
elementary breakfasts at $ 1,
junior/senior high school
breakfasts at $1.25 and
reduced price breakfasts at

government.
