Early bird registration is due by June 3; cost is $75. Late registration after June 3 is $85. The camp is open to youth in Gilliam, Morrow and W h eeler co u n ties who have just finished the fourth through sixth grades. T h ere w ere num erous career development awards presented to members that participated in the contests throughout the year. They vary from shop skills to floral design, from public sp e a k in g to liv e sto c k judging. T h e c h a p te r a ls o s e le c te d tw o p e o p le to whom to present the Honorary Chapter Farmer award during the evening: Ashley Florence and Teresa VanDoorn received the award for their “outstanding service, commitment and generosity” to the chapter and its members. O utstanding service awards and/or appreciation awards were also presented to Matt Combe, Greg Grant, John and Ann M urray, John and Ashlie Gould, Sue Gibbs, Missy Lindsay, Jim Kindle, Carri Grieb, Vi Wilgers, Angie Hughes, Jan Stroeber, Joanne Burleson, Christy Wizner and Jeff Bailey. Recognized as Oregon FFA State Degree Holders for 2014 were Caitlynn Bailey, Tate Gentry and Macy Gibbs. The highest degree the FFA organization can bestow upon their members is the American FFA Degree, and there were two recipients of that this past year from the Heppner chapter: Zech Hintz and Devin Robinson. Among the evening’s highlights were presentations o f the Star Awards.
