On Saturday, nine people skied across Linger Longer Prairie and down Ditch Creek with tem peratures in the 20s. They had to pick the few places on the creek that were hard enough to ski across, and a few skiers had to scrap their skis and wax up after crossing the creek. Bottom: Kristi Crowell, seated between Molly Rhea (left) and Sandra VanLiew, shares her lunch with her farm dog, Lucy, who is II years old. Crowell also made the sacrifice of packing along a blanket to help w arm the thin dog during their lunch stop. Thin and old though she may be, Lucy loves to ski, and reportedly led the pack of younger dogs nearly all day. -Contributed photos NRCS to hold local work group meeting The USDA N atural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) wants to remind everyone that they will be hosting a meeting at the USDA Service Center on Feb. 19 at 1 p.m. to gather input regarding the natural resource opportunities and priorities across Morrow The next lunch meeting of the Heppner Chamber of Commerce will be Thursday, Feb. 20.
