Death Notice K athryn Thompson Webb— Kathryn Thompson Webb, 89, formerly of Heppner, passed away January 29, 2013, at Eagle Springs. Blair is the daughter of Jay and Kelly-jo Keithley of Heppner. Kyle is the son of Chuck and Phyliss Pot tala of Grangeville, ID. Blair graduated from Heppner High School in 2005. She earned a bach elor’s degree in business administration from Eastern Oregon University in 2009. She is employed with Farm Service Agency in Pend leton. Kyle is a 2000 graduate of Grangeville High School and a 2004 graduate of the University of Idaho, where he earned a bachelor’s de gree in agribusiness. He also works for Farm Service Agency as a farm loan of ficer. A June 15, 2013 wed ding is planned in Herm iston. Heppner students on EOU dean’s list Four Heppner students have been named to Eastern Oregon University’s 2012 fall term dean’s list. Hep pner students on the list were Lawrence Lutcher, Kelsie Fox, Kellee Jones and Sherilyn Peck. Other students from the county who received the distinction were Whitley Reece and Kelli Jones of Boardman, and Jose DeLo- era Avila of Irrigon. To qual i fy for the dean’s list, students must achieve and maintain a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale while complet ing a minimum of 12 hours o f graded coursework for the duration of the term. Legion, Auxiliary to Health district gets meet new ventilator The American Legion and Auxiliary will have their first meeting of the year Feb. 12 at 6:30 p.m. at the Meth odist church. The meeting will begin with a potluck; the main dish will be provided, and members are asked to bring a salad or dessert. Separate meetings will follow. “We hope to see as many ladies out as possible, as there are many issues to discuss and make plans for,” says an Auxiliary spokeswoman. The foundation donated $6,000 toward the purchase of the equipment, which provides critical breathing support when a patient cannot breathe on his or her own. This includes lone girls interested in joining the Heppner softball team. The fee is $35 per participant or $70 per family. One parent or legal guardian must be present to register. Participants are asked to bring three proofs of current residency. A driv er’s license, one utility bill (i.e. CBEC, City of Hep pner), and one non-utility bill (i.e. car registration) are acceptable documenta tion. Each item must show a physical address and have a current date from the past 11 months. Little League will also need a copy of the child’s birth certificate or a state-certified birth certificate. The deadline for regis tration is Feb. 13. No late forms will be accepted this year, no exceptions. Coaches and volunteers may fill out an application at this time.
