The boys were born O ctober 21, 2012, G ar rett Ray at 11:21 p.m. and Gage Christopher at 11:22 p.m. Garrett weighed three pounds, 13 ounces and was 17 inches long. Gage weighed three pounds, 12 ounces and was 16 inches long. The twins were bom at St. Charles Medical Cen ter in Bend, OR, where they spent nine weeks in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit before joining their family at home on Dec. 23. Garrett and Gage join big sister, Shae. Grandpar ents are Ken and Connie Jones o f Lexington, and Harvey and Bobbi Childers o f lone. Great-grandpar ents are Cleo and Marilyn Childers of lone, and Mari lyn Schiller of Echo, OR. St. Patrick’s weekend is just around the comer, and the St. Patrick’s Committee will be working together to make sure every event and activity is planned, organized and supported, the Heppner Chamber of Commerce announced this week. “We are always looking for new ‘talent’...volun teer talent, that is!” says chamber Executive Direc tor Sheryll Bates. “Is this something you could do nate some time to? We have many activities to choose from, and are looking for help.” St. Patrick’s weekend will be March 15-17 this year. Community lunch menu United Methodist Church members will serve lunch on Wednesday, Jan. 16, at St. Patrick's Senior Center. The meal will include baked chicken with orange sauce, rice pilaf, winter vegetables, sliced tomatoes, hot rolls and apple crisp. Milk is served at each meal. Sug gested donation is $3.50 per meal. The popular event will include a Dutch-oven des sert on Friday night, a full Dutch-oven meal on Sat urday night, and a show featuring only the entertain ment on Sunday afternoon, Jan. 20. P erfo rm ers include singer and songwriter John Wambeke and his sidekick Pat Ward, son Frazier Wam beke at the piano and with his own trio. Back by popular demand will be the comedy skit of Thelma and Eunice, a pair of gossipy spinster church ladies.. .this year they’re at the Bingo Palace. The cost of the Friday show, which begins at 7 p.m. and includes dessert, is $20. The Saturday night show, which starts with dinner at 6 p.m., is $30, and the Sunday afternoon show, which begins at 3 p.m., is $10, or $5 for stu dents.
