Some of the costs are reimbursed by Medicaid and Medicare. Other large upcoming expenses include a new ambulance in a planned rotation among the district’s facilities, which is estimated to cost over $100,000 and a new chemistry analyzer for Pioneer Memorial Hospital’s lab, which is estimated between $ 150,000-$200,000. The current analyzer is around eight years old and concern is that the analyzer will begin having problems and breakdowns, said Blauer. In other business, the board: -agreed to cancel the December board meeting, which was scheduled for Christmas Eve, and unable to be scheduled for the next Monday, which would have been New Year’s Eve. The board agreed to wait to meet until the January 28 regular meeting unless it becomes necessary to hold a meeting on January 7. -agreed to change the January 28 meeting, originally set for lone, members could view the work completed so far for the Irrigon Medical Clinic remodel; change the February 25 meeting from Boardman to lone; and change the May meeting to Monday, May 20, instead of Wednesday, May 22. -heard an update on the Irrigon Medical Clinic construction. The building contractors discovered an uneven section of the original building which must be dealt with when they add on the new section, which will increase costs. The board also learned that the state inspector said that there could be only two layers of roofing on the building, rather than three, so additional costs to remove one layer of roofing are also anticipated. -discussed the district’s focus on wellness, including sponsoring classes which would teach healthy lifestyles. Board member David Bums suggested tapping into the skills of people in the community who may volunteer to lead classes on a variety of subjects. -learned from board member Leann Rea that the increase in tax income this year, resulting from the Shepherd’s Flat wind farm, with more tax monies anticipated in 2013. -learned from Mahoney that the district showed an increase in gross revenue for the month of October with $618,536 in gross patient revenue for the month, compared to $567,931 in September; total revenue deductions down to $45,411, compared to $123,820 the previous month; $573,125 in net patient revenue for October, compared to $444,110 in September; an adjusted increase in tax revenue to $116,118, compared to $99,405 the previous month; total operating revenue of $742,435 in October, compared to $673,866 in September; $657,826 in total operating expenses, down from $686,587 the previous month; for a total gain of $94,518 in October, compared to a minus $2,275 in September. -received the following report: Pioneer Memorial Clinic had 447 patient visits for the month of October. 43 new patients, 58 seen by a nurse and eight no-shows; Irrigon Medical Clinic had 158 patient visits, with 31 new patients, 72 seen by a nurse and seven no shows; Heppner Ambulance had 26 total page-outs with 18 transports for $23,815 in revenue, Boardman Ambulance had 21 total page-outs with 11 transports for $ 15,065 in revenue, Irrigon Ambulance had 22 page outs with 12 transports for $15,155 in revenue, there were four flights; Pioneer Memorial Hospital had five admissions, three swing bed admissions, seven admitted for observation, three swing nursing facility admissions, 499 total outpatients, 72 total emergency room encounters, 1728 lab tests, 92 x-ray procedures, 33 CT scans, 23 EK.G tests, four treadmill procedures, five colonoscopy procedures, one endoscopy procedure, one colon/endoscopy procedure, 33 respiratory therapy procedures; Home Health had 154 patient visits; Hospice had one admission; pharmacy had 1,199 drug doses for $74,382 in drug revenue. BEO Bancorp announces dividend BEO Bancorp Presi dent and CEO Jeff Bailey announced that the board of directors o f BEO Ban corp “has voted to declare a $0.50 per share dividend for 2012. The dividend will be paid to shareholders of record as of December 10 payable on or before De cember 15.” A ccording to board Chairman Bob Arihstrong, “ BEO Bancorp has paid a dividend 26 of the past 27 years. Dividends are a reflection of the financial stability and profitability of the bank. We are very happy to be able to provide this dividend to our share holders.” “The dividend of $0.50 per share is 25 percent higher than last year's divi dend o f $0.40 per share and is indicative of Bank of Eastern Oregon’s strong capital position. The board of directors and employees o f the bank have worked hard during the four year national financial crisis to improve the overall strength o f the bank and enhance capital. We continue to look for opportunities to expand our market share in eastern Oregon,” said Bailey. He concluded by saying, “The support of our shareholders, communities, and employees have made it possible for us to succeed during a time when many banks have failed.
