EXPERIENCE A GREAT TIME IN N.E. OREGON
New picnic shelter to be dedicated
during fair
After a year o f waiting,
working and planning. Morrow
County residents will finally
be able to lay eyes on the new
covered picnic shelter at the
Morrow County Fairgrounds.
Everyone is invited to a
ribbon cutting and dedication
of the new shelter on Friday,
Aug. 17 at 4:30 p.m. at the
fairgrounds, 74473 Hwy. 74,
Heppner.
The groundbreaking for
the covered picnic area took
place last year during the fair. It
seemed fitting to coordinators
to bring the project full circle
by showcasing the completed
work at this year’s fair.
The picnic shelter is the
finished project o f the 2011
Morrow County Leadership
Team. In January o f 2011, 30
Morrow County residents were

A covered picnic shelter at the
Morrow County Fairgrounds
was selected as the project, to
facilitate a place where fair-
goers can escape the sun and
rain during the hottest time of
the year, as well as provide an
event area for weddings, com
munity gatherings and other
events.
