Bands get ready to rock the fair This year, fair coordinators have brought in two high-octane groups that promise to keep the county fair rocking. On Friday night, Aug. 17, Three Quarter Short from Bend, OR will take the stage at 10 p.m. in the rodeo arena. Known for their tight and solid musicianship, they have been entertaining audiences throughout Oregon for years. Whether it’s country or rock n’ roll, they say they are sure to please a wide variety of listeners. The Saturday-night dance at the fair and ro deo is a long-standing tradition of music, merri ment and high spirits, and the group performing this year promises to keep that tradition going strong. Rock N ’ Roll Cowboys is a five-piece, high-energy, high- output, country rock band that is “a delight both to hear and to watch.” Going strong for the last decade, they play music by top country and rock artists. They are making a return appearance after playing the Friday night show during last year’s fair. They’ll begin perform ing around 10 p.m. in the rodeo arena, where they plan to keep the party going till morning.
