Heppner Gazette-Times, Heppner, Oregon Wednesday, May 9,2012 - SEVEN WCCC Men’s Club Heppner students of lone class goes on the month WSU field trip Kelly Fox, Mike Do herty and Ron Bowman hosted 28 golfers at last Sunday’s morning men’s play. The weather was great after a one-hour frost de lay. Winners were as fol lows: Gross: 1st, Barry Munk- ers, 65; 2nd (tie), Kelly Fox and Don Eaves, 66. Net: 1st, Gene Orwick, 53; 2nd, Chip Von Gunten, 55; 3rd (tie), Earl Fishbum and Josh Coiner, 56. Special events: Least putts, John Edmundson, 25; KP, Dave Mitchell; long drive, Charlie Ferguson. The next Sunday morn ing men's play will be on May 20 and will feature Ryder Cup matches. Ron Bowman will organize the event, and asks all par ticipating players to bring a white shirt and a black shirt to the event. The different color shirts will be used to identify the two teams in the competition. Lunch will be served as part of the activity. They learned to thread a sewing machine, fill a bobbin, cut out pat terns, sew straight lines on the machines, and choose their project correctly for fair. Shyla Heard and Rick Sandford attended as guests and enjoyed the meal. Their next meeting will be July 1 at the Sandford house. Two trips are being planned locally for people wishing to travel to Seattle or Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. A Seattle theatre trip is set for October 26-28. The trip includes two Broadway plays, two nights' lodging, a motor coach to and from Seattle, leaving from Heppner Main Street, and breakfasts and dinners.
