When her Audie Joe Privett Audie Joe Privett, 74, passed away peacefully at home in Denver, CO on April 15,2012, surrounded by his family and friends. Joe will be buried with his parents in Heppner at a date to be determined later. Joe was born in Ava, MO on February 7, 1938 to Chalmer (Bill) and Floy Privett. In 1940, at the age o f 2-1/2 years, he relocated with his parents to Heppner. He graduated from Heppner High School in 1956, and entered military service in the Navy in 1957. His service in the military took him to Vietnam, as well as many other coun tries o f the world. After 24 years of service to our country, Joe retired in 1981 at the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer. Joe then relocated to Benton City, WA and worked first at the Han ford Facility and then at Washington Public Power as a nuclear instructor. In 1991, he retired for good and enjoyed working on his property and traveling. Some of his favorite hob bies were restoring classic Mustangs, helping friends and gold panning. Joe was preceded in death by: his parents, Chalmer and Floy Privett. Joe is survived by: his siblings, June (Alan) Brown, Jean (Leon) Taber, John (Frances) Privett; his children, Mark (Chris) Priv ett, Sheila (David) Rop- pel, Melissa Gallant and Kevin (Anastasia) Privett; grandchildren, Amanda, Jarrod, Kaitlynn, Matthew, Nicole, Brittney, Trinity, Astraia, and several more adopted grandchildren; and several nieces and nephew?, close friends, and countless people who were touched by his life and presence.
