Justice Court Report M orrow County Justice o f the Peace Ann Spicer has released the follow ing Justice Court Report. -M ark M cC abe, 20, of Heppner pleaded no contest to Minor in Posses sion. His driver’s license was suspended and he was ordered to complete drug and alcohol evaluation. Fines, fees and assessments were $250. -Rudy R am irez, 20, o f Heppner was found guilty of criminal trespass and Minor in Possession. His driver’s license was suspended; fines, fees and assessments totaled $589. -Ryan M. Bennett, 18, o f Heppner was found guilty of failure to wear a seatbelt and fined $100. -Garrett T. The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) reminds anglers that Willow Creek Reservoir has trout, crappie and brown bullhead in season. “Trout fishing has been slow, but warm water angling should pick up with the warming spring tempera tures,” states the ODFW recreation report. “Anglers are reminded of the crappie size and bag limits; eight-inch minimum length and 25 fish per day.” Chamber lunch meeting The next meeting of the Heppner Chamber of Commerce will take place this Thursday, April 19, at noon at All Saints Episcopal Church. Rep. Greg Smith will be the speaker, address ing “The Process of Poli tics.” The talk will include discussion on how legisla tion moves forward and The Morrow Pacific project will ship Powder River Basin coal to the Port of Morrow by train. From there, barges will move the coal to the Port of St. Helens, where it will be transferred to oceangoing vessels bound for U.S. trade allies such as Japan, South Korea and Taiwan. The Morrow Pacific project represents a capital investment of more than $150 million. It will pay about $750,000 annually in Morrow County property taxes, $850,000 annually in Port of M orrow fees and $350,000 annually in voluntary contributions to M orrow County public schools. Most importantly, the M orrow Pacific project will how citizens can participate in the process.
