on-line, but has teacher sup
port. The program is profi
ciency based, meaning that
the students move at their
own pace, and take exams
to prove their knowledge of
the subject, rather than be

classroom participation.

He said that the district and
tech support are working to
resolve the problems. The
programs were purchased
through a $442,500 federal
stimulus grant. Mendoza
said that the funds would
have reverted back to the
federal government if they
had not been used by the
district.
