programs,” stated Matlack.

Solutions.”
Matlack also stated
that the funding for the
parole and probations pro-
gram now comes straight to

people and now averages
around 90. Bowles said the
numbers keep the depart
ment busy, but he is excited
about the chance to help
people right here instead of
making them travel to meet
probation requirements.
“You get a lot bet
ter chance to work with
people and hold them ac
countable,” said Bowles.
“Our main goal is to help
them comply with their pro
bation and create positive
change in their lives.”

urday, May 21 at Cutsforth
Park from 8:30 a.m. until
11 a.m.
The fishing derby
is a free event for children
up to age 14. Fishers will
be divided into three age
groups, with prizes for each
group.
Cutsforth Park is
located at 58430 Willow
Creek Road, about 22 miles
south of Heppner on the

Lodge 358, Pettyjohn’s
