Heppner Gazette-Times, Heppner, Oregon Wednesday, December 22,2010 HHS softball team to host fiesta dinner The Heppner High School softball team will put on a Mexican Fiesta dinner during the varsity basketball tournament on Tuesday, December 28, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. The dinner will be held in the Home Ec room at HHS. The dinner will include tostadas, homemade rice, beans, desserts and drinks. The cost is $5 for one tostada meal and $7 for a two tostada meal. 2 A All-State Football Team announced The 2010 2A All-State Football Team was re cently announced. Daily winners were an nounced and an overall winner at the end o f the week was selected. The winners were chosen by taking the num ber of pounds of food do nated divided by the num ber of students per class. The high school sophomore class took the overall prize bringing in over 20 pounds of food per student and 263 pounds total for four days. “Classes were in the hunt all week long,” said ASB president, Thom as Holland “It was a lot of fun getting to announce daily winners and taking prizes to their classrooms. All of our donations will be taken to the Neighborhood Center in Heppner.” The lo n e H igh School student body offi cers rewarded the class that brought the most pounds per student and delivered hot cocoa and cookies to the sophomore class during their biology class. Overall the students of lone Com m unity School brought 1,252 pounds o f food in four days.
