On November 14, she was presented with a check by Thrivent board member Neva DeMayo representing funds raised by members of Hope Lutheran and All Saints Episcopal Churches and Valby Lutheran Church, matched by a $1000 grant from Thrivent. Additional gifts, including a handmade quilt, are still on their way from Thrivent members in other Lutheran churches in Eastern Oregon. Jones was selected to receive this gift to help offset the extraordinary medical expenses she incurred this year.
