Health district announces
Veterans’ Day closures
Morrow County Health District has announced
that Pioneer Memorial Clinic in Heppner and Irrigon
Medical Clinic will be closed on Thursday, November
11, for the Veterans’ Day holiday.
Laboratory and radiology departments at Pioneer
Memorial Hospital will also be closed Thursday for non-
emergent outpatient services.
Mr. Bill’s Trivia returns
for HDC fundraiser
The Heppner Daycare and Preschool is bringing
Mr. Bill’s Trivia back for another great, fun fundraiser on
Saturday, November 20, at 7 p.m. at the Elks Club.
Team can consist o f six players and the table cost
is $150 ($25 per player).
This fundraiser will help Heppner Daycare and
Preschool cover some costs that would be impossible
to cover on their own. The HDC board relies heavily
on state funding which was recently cut and, o f course,
fundraisers.

effort to collect funds from
the community, to be used
in that same community.
Community Bank matches

$5,000). Each branch man­
ager has selected a charity
to raise funds for that will
directly benefit the citizens
in the area.
In a d d itio n , this
year, the two regions o f the
bank are in competition to
raise the most money for
their charities. Community
Bank will donate an extra
$1,000 to the charities in
the region where the most
donations are collected.
The W estern R egion in­
cludes branches in Herm-
iston, Heppner, Pendleton,
M ilton-Freew ater, Walla
Walla, and Clarkston. The
Eastern Region encompass­
es branches in La Grande,
Baker City, Union, Elgin,
Wallowa, Enterprise, and
Joseph. The to tal funds
collected will be calculated
after December 20, when
the winning region will be
determined.

NOAA issues monthly climate summary for Heppner
Last week at Heppner High School was Red Ribbon Week. This
year’s theme for the week was, “Take a step towards being drug
and alcohol free.” To represent the theme, the whole student
body printed giant foot prints going around the perimeter of
the school in bright red paint on October 26. Overall the week
was a great success and was concluded on Thursday with all of

Neighborhood Center only accepting
food, financial donations until Jan. 1
The Neighborhood Center o f South Morrow County will not be accepting
clothing or household items through January 1. They will, however, be accepting food
donations and financial assistance to help those in need during the holiday season.
The N eighborhood Center will be distributing Christm as food and gift
boxes.

Christmas community musical program will be held Sun­
day, December 5, at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and on Monday,
December 6, at 7 p.m.
Ticket prices are $5 for children and $10 for
adults.
Refreshments will be served after the program
