ALDRI CH PONDS: trout,The ponds are now accessible with a two mile hike. Weed growth is thick along the banks. A floating device is recommended to reach the best fishing. GRANDE RONDE, WALLOWA, IMNAHA RIVERS AND TRIBU TARIES: trout, chinook salmon River flows have receded and trout fishing is fair to good. The Imnaha River, from the mouth to Summit Creek Bridge, and the Wal lowa River, from Minam State Park to the mouth of the Lostine River, opened for spring chinook fishing on May 22. Daily bag limit is two adipose fin-clipped adults and five adipose fin-clipped jacks. Anglers must stop fishing when they have kept two adipose fin-clipped adults. An glers averaged eight hours per chinook landed on the Imnaha and 22 hours per chinook landed on the Wal lowa last week. Chinook fisheries on the Wallowa and Imnaha Rivers will close at the end of the day on Sunday, July 25. Check river flows GRANDE RONDE RES ERVOIR: rainbow and brook trout Fishing is good for both rainbow and brook trout. Fly fish using nymphs, or use a spinning rod with a rooster tail or spinners. Only artificial tackle al lowed. Fish are ranging in size from 8-14 inch es. HOLLIDAY PARK POND AND BULL PRAI RIE RESERVOIR: trout Excessive weed growth and warm tem peratures have limited fishing suc cess in both ponds.HON EYMOON AND TEPEE PONDS, SALT CREEK SUMMIT, Me GRAW: troutThese forest ponds have been stocked with legal-sized and trophy rain bow trout. Fishing should be good. , JOHN DAY RIVER: trout, smallmouth bass Fishing for smallmouth bass and channel catfish has been good. Warmer temperatures will bring a slowdown in the fishing. Spring chinook have arrived and will be holding in larger pools. They are illegal to keep and we do not allow fishing with lures in the upper North and Middle forks to prevent anglers from accidentally hooking them. Stream flow levels at Service Creek JUBILEE LAKE: trout Jubilee Lake has been stocked and fishing should be good for rainbow trout. KINNEY LAKE: trout Kinney Lake has been stocked with legal-sized and trophy rainbow trout. Fishing is good for both stocked and hold-over trout. LONG C REEK POND, C A V E N D E R POND: trout Fishing is poor, and will continue to be poor until cooler temperatures return in the fall. LUGER SPRINGS POND: trout Rainbow trout will be re stocked in Luger Pond, northwest of Palmer Junc tion. MAGONE LAKE: trout Fishing is good for rain bow and brook trout to 14-inches. Warm tempera tures will drive fish into deeper water. Construction of a new boat launch area will begin in mid-August and is expected to last into the fall. McKAY RESERVIOR: crappie, yellow perch, brown bullhead, trout Crappie fishing is good for 8 to 10 inch crappie with the evening bite being the best.-Angling for yellow perch and brown bullhead continues to be good. The reservoir is currently 84 percent full. MORGAN LAKE: trout, bullheads, bass The lake has been stocked w ith trophy and leg al sized trout. Worms or Pow- erBait with a sliding sinker works well. OLIVE LAKE: trout, kokanee Olive is now accessable and has been stocked with rainbow. Kokanee will bite lures in the shallows for a few more weeks until hot weather drives them to extreme depths. PEACH POND (Ladd Marsh): trout The pond has been stocked with trophy and legal-sized rainbow trout. Worms or PowerBait with a sliding sinker works well. Fishing has slowed some. ROULET POND: trout The pond has been stocked w ith tro p h y and legal trout. SEVENTH STREET POND: trout This pond has been stocked with 1,000 legal-sized rain bow trout. S TR AWB E R R Y AND SLIDE LAKES: trout Rainbow and brook trout are available in Strawberry. Slide Lake has brook trout only. TROUT FARM POND: rainbow and brook trout Fishing is good. Construc tion will begin this summer to replace the picnic shelter. The shelter area will be closed during construction and will re-open this fall. TWIN POND: trout The pond has been stocked and trout angling should be good. UM ATILLA FOREST PONDS: trout The Umatilla and Walla Walla ponds have all been stocked and should provide good angling for legal sized rainbow trout. U MA T I L L A RI VER: trout Angling for rainbow trout is fair to good. Anglers are reminded of special regula tions for the upper Umatilla River. Fishing is restricted to lures and artificial flies only and catch-and-release for trout. WALLA WALLA RIVER: trout Fishing is good for rainbow trout. WALLOWA LAKE: rain bow trout, kokanee Wallowa Lake has been stocked with legal and tro phy sized rainbow trout and is providing good trout fishing. Kokanee fishing is fair to good and anglers are catching some large fish. Kokanee are beginning to move to deeper water as the lake warms. The state record for kokanee has been broken four times this spring at Wallowa Lake, most recently on June 13. The most recent record kokanee is a new world record. WALLOWA WILDLIFE AREA, VICTOR, AND MARR PONDS: rainbow trout Wallowa Valley ponds have been stocked with legal sized and trophy rainbow trout. Fishing is good. WESTON POND: trout Has been stocked and will provide fair fishing for rain bow trout. WILLOW CREEK RES ERVOIR: trout, crappie Crappie fishing is fair; trout angling continues to be good. Anglers are reminded of the catch and release only regulation for largemouth bass. A health advisory has been issued for Willow Creek Reservoir by Oregon Public Health, the advisory was prompted by high algae levels found in the lake.
