Published: June 23, 2010 Affidavit IONE SCHOOL DISTRICT Morrow County Court weekly meeting held PUBLIC NOTICE The Morrow Coun ty Court met on June 17 in Boardman with Judge Tail- man, Commissioner Grieb, and Commissioner Rea in attendance. Following is a summary of the meeting provided by Leann Rea. T h e c o u rt r e viewed and approved the minutes from the June 9 meeting. T he c o u rt r e view ed and approved a c c o u n t p a y a b le s in the net total amount of $250,557.68. Public Hearing: Re 2009-2010 Supple m ental B udget: Fred Carlson, finance direc tor, provided the court with an overview o f the proposed changes. The changes are as follows: G eneral Fund: A net increase to the health departm ent budget o f $71,803 (m ostly from the receipt o f additional grants and some fees); Public W orks/G eneral Maintenance increase of $14,000 as the result of additional garbage fees; Transfer Station-South an increase o f $7,800 from additional fees; Veterans Department an increase o f $1,882 from grants. Road Fund: The Crush er Department an increase o f $4,250 from mineral leases and flood dollars. A lso m oved $ 2 0 ,0 0 0 from the Capital Outlay- Road to Capital Outlay- Weed. School Fund: An increase o f $9,956 from federal forest and flood fees. lone School Fund: An increase o f $1,080 from federal forest and flood fees. Finley Buttes Lie. The co u rt co n d u cted the fo llo w in g business: Reviewed and signed the 2010-2011 budget in the amount of $26,543,623 calculated at the rate o f $4.1347 per $1,000. R eview ed and ap p ro v ed the jo b description for the parole and probation supervisor. Reviewed and approved the pay rate for the pa role and probation su pervisor. Reviewed and approved a purchasing pre-authorization for the Veteran’s Services for a new copier in the amount o f $4,422.55. Reviewed and signed two contracts for employment for Mr. Navarro for the juvenile departm ent. Review ed and approved a grant application for $153,436 for a runway overlay at the Lexington Airport. Reviewed, approved and signed a one year lease agreement with Tim Hed- man for space in the Gil liam & Bisbee Building in the amount o f $125 per month. A nyone who would like to be placed on the list to receive county minutes can contact Kar en W olff at (541)676- 5620. house be completed before bad weather sets in. -discussed a drain age problem and directed Henrichsen to investigate the cause and solutions. -approved the sec ond reading and adopted policy on personal electron ic communication devices as amended in the event that the lone area receives cell service. -approved moving the signature authority from Ostheller to Archer as of June 24. -received the fol lowing financial report from chief fiscal officer Beth O ’Hanlon as follows: the district received $202,555 in basic school support, $24,029 in property taxes, $36,400 in rental receipts from Morrow County Uni fied Recreation District, $16,247 in federal REAP money; the primary, inter mediate, special education and technology cost centers remain over budget from previous months and the fiscal cost center is slightly over budget with the re mainder o f the UMESD business service contract due, however the functions continue to be under budget as prescribed by budget law; all special revenue funds carrying deficit balances continue to be reimburs able with grants and should be whole by June 30; the latest basic school support estimate totals $1,425,865, $106,439 less than the pre vious estimate due to the state budget shortfall and across the board cuts or dered by the governor; the district’s proposed budget includes $1,483,883 in ba sic school support, which is $58,018 higher than the current estimate. -received the fol low ing superintendent/ principal report: the school year ended with a student enrollment of 181 with 84 students in kindergarten through grade five, 33 in grades six-eight; and 64 in grades nine-12; the gym floors will be refinished starting June 28 and the gyms will be closed for several weeks. -heard the follow ing announcements: July 9-10 Oregon School Board A ssociation; next board meeting July 19, with a work session tentatively scheduled for 4:30 p.m. and the board meeting to follow at 7 p.m. Sheriff's Report -MCSO received report from a subject in Irrigon that she found a Chihuahua at the baseball field. -MCSO received report that a pickup went over a guard rail and into a ditch on Hwy. 74, Lexing ton. MCSO, EMS and the Heppner Fire Department responded. The subject was transported to Good Shep herd Hospital in Hermis- ton. -MCSO deputy re ported assisting Boardman Police Department with an assault. -MCSO received report from a Heppner sub ject that a female in a red car was driving very fast in the alley near her residence and deliberately came upon her too fast as she was walking -MCSO received report of a sex crime in Boardman. The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office reports han dling the following business: March 22: The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office received report of a semi that took a comer too fast on the 1-84 on ramp at Patterson Ferry. MCSO cited Philipp Lloyd Oliver, 49, for Careless Driving with an accident.
