The HES Student Council donated three NEO 2 units to the
Library and HEROES program. The units will be used by stu­
dents to take AR quizzes without the use of full size computers.
These units were donated in memory of Nate Arbogast who
passed away earlier this year. Mr. Arbogast was well known
for his dedication to brining technology to small town schools
and his volunteer work in the community. Pictured are: Top

He was raised in the mid­
valley.

car racing. He loved his
restored 1942 John Deere
tractor. He was a member
o f the Rocky Mountain Elk
Foundation, the Good Sam
Ready Roamers travel club
and C lear Lake Fish and
Game.

AWANA Club to hold
bowling party
AWANA Club is sponsoring a bowling party for
children (and their parents) from four years o f age through
sixth grade on Sunday, June 20, starting at 4 p.m. at The
Stable o f Youth.

Morgan receives Area Recognition
Award for Mathematics
The Oregon Coun­
cil o f Teachers o f M ath­
ematics (OCTM) recently
recognized Heppner Jr/Sr
High School math teacher
Troy Morgan for his con­
tribution to the mathemat­
ics community o f Oregon.
M organ was awarded the
Area Recognition Award
for the Umatilla area.

said “ M ath is advanced
among students by teachers
and others who work on the
progress in m ath educa­
tion and work to increase
the quality of mathematics
education. Oregon Council
o f Teachers of Mathematics
members are math teachers
and classroom teachers that
are interested in keeping
quality mathematics in Or­
egon Schools. Troy Morgan
is one o f those people. He
is leading the parade in
our entire region and state
with credit for proficiency
in the classroom . He has
the ability to be organized
and motivate/relate to math
students o f the high school
age.”
