Sara is 2005 graduate of lone High School and received a bachelor of science degree in agriculture busi ness management from Oregon State University. She is currently employed as an assistant manager of account ing at Slayden Plumbing & Heating, Inc. in North Pole, AK. Alan is a 2002 graduate of Colony High School and is presently working on a degree in business manage ment from Eastern Oregon University. He is currently employed as a licensed journeyman plumber at Slayden Plumbing & Heating, Inc. in North Pole, AK. The happy couple will be celebrating their wed ding on May 30, 2010 at Canyon Lakes Golf Course in Kennewick, WA. At b i r t h he w eig h ed seven pounds, one ounce, and was 20 inches in length. He joins a two-year-old sister, Klynn Mc Namee. Grandparents are Bob and Pam Worden of Hep pner and Pat and Vickie McNamee of Irrigon. Great-grandparents are Richard and Grace Morin of Portland and Josephine McNamee of Madras. Obituaries Geneva J. Palmer Geneva J. Palmer, longtim e lone resident, died on April 15, 2010 in H erm iston at the age of 97 years. A memorial service will be held on S a tu r d a y , A p ril 24, 2010, at 10 Ue»eva J. a.m. at the Palmer lone C om munity Church in lone. Burial will follow at the High View Cemetery in lone. She was born on May 9, 1912 in Ava, Mis souri to parents, Noah and Ella Jackson Pettyjohn. She was raised in Cecil, Mor gan, and later in lone where she attended and graduated high school. Geneva was united in marriage to Marion A. Palmer on September 25, 1932 in Heppner. They lived on Sand Hallow and McNabb before moving to the Pettey’s Place on Rhea Creek in 1963 where she has lived since. Geneva was a member of the lone Com munity Church, the Willows Grange #672, and the lone Education Foundation. She enjoyed her yard, garden ing, cooking, canning, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by: her son, Marion Lee Palmer of lone; four granddaugh ters; nine great-grandchil dren; two great-great-grand- sons; and several nieces and nephews. Geneva was pre ceded in death by: her hus band Marion Palmer; her parents; three brothers, Paul, Roy, and Lee; and a sister, Beulah Sherer. Ham- man, 43, of Albany passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at his home. A Cel ebration of Life potluck was held Friday, April 16, at 1 p.m. at Grand Prairie Park in Albany. He was born in Hermiston the son of Tom and M arion (Poorm an) Hamman. Tom was raised in Heppner and graduat ed from high school in 1984. He loved the out doors, hunting, and fishing. Tom was enjoying a life of sobriety after many years of addiction. Tom is survived by: sons Skylar Hager and Daric Crus; daughter Harley Hamman; mother Marion L. Robinson of Heppner; father Tom R. Hamman and wife Jeannie of Otis; broth ers, Mark Hammon of Tan gent, Robbie Poorman of Lebanon, Chadd Robinson of Hawaii, Zac Brown of Heppner, and Matt Ham man of Bend; sisters Amy Robinson of Albany and Sharon Robinson-Miller of Heppner; grandmother Ar lene McCall of Hermiston; uncles Scott Poorman, John Poorman, both of Albany, John Hamman o f Uma tilla and Mike Hamman of Hermiston; and friend Kate Rebillet-Cruse of Albany. There will be a short meeting for parents to fill in registration information at that time or they may take forms home to complete later. Children must be 3 years old by September 1, 2010. Students must have proof of birth date and immunization records to enroll.
