The American Federation o f State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCM E) represent 1.6 q million employees, primar ily in local and state govern ment and in the health care industry. “I am honored to have received the union’s endorsement,” Nelson said. “1 am gratified by their con fid en ce that together we can continue to make our community a safe place to live, work and raise a family.” As a life long Mor row County resident and current Um atilla County Deputy District Attorney, Nelson states that he will bring stability, dedication, common sense and fair and impartial adm inistration o f justice to the office o f district attorney. During his time as a Umatilla County Deputy District Attorney, N elso n has su c c e ssfu lly tried num erous crim inal matters, felony and misde meanor alike in the Uma tilla County Circuit Court.
